FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
World Champion Kickboxer Dan Lucas Partners with World Genesis Foundation to Teach at UNESCO Youth Academy
Rochester,
New York, USA - June 2, 2010
The World Genesis Foundation announced today that World
Champion Kickboxer, Dan "The Lizard" Lucas, will be traveling
to Romania to manage a Kickboxing program as part of a UNESCO
Youth Academy this summer.
"It is an honor and privilege to have Dan Lucas joining our program this summer. Dan is not just a world-champion professional kickboxer, but in our experience he is also a world-champion teacher of youth," said Heather Caton, Senior Director of the World Genesis Foundation. "Dan worked with us leading very successful sports projects in 2006 and 2007 for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). As a teacher Dan always seems to find a way to motivate, inspire and teach youth, not just kickboxing but also valuable lessons in life. His kickboxing classes were a highlight of programs in Europe in 2006 and 2007 and we are very excited he is joining us again in 2010."
Dan Lucas will be managing the Kickboxing Academy this August as part of an overall sports program led by Mihnea Muraru-Mandrea, President of the Romanian Association for Sports and Culture. Joining Dan will be Quentin Canty-Marozzi, his student and assistant instructor for the program. The event is part of the Atlantykron Summer Academy of Learning operated under the auspices of UNESCO in Capidava, Romania.
The World Genesis Foundation was founded on November 30, 1999 and is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future." Headquartered in Santa Fe, NM USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
