Astronaut, Scientist and Humanitarian, Dr. Edgar Mitchell, To Speak at UNESCO Youth Academy in Eastern Europe.

 Dr. Mitchell is also the founder of IONS, the Institute of Noetic Sciences. IONS is a nonprofit membership organization located in Northern California that conducts and sponsors leading-edge research into the potentials and powers of consciousness—including perceptions, beliefs, attention, intention, and intuition. The Institute maintains a commitment to scientific rigor while exploring phenomena that have been largely overlooked by mainstream science. |

Dr. Mitchell will be sharing insights and information ranging from his experiences walking on the moon, to research in consciousness, and his ongoing work today in the issues of creating a sustainable future on Earth," said David Lewis Anderson, President and CEO of the World Genesis Foundation. "Dr. Mitchell's achievements as a scientist, test pilot, naval officer, astronuat, entrepreneur and author are well known. We believe his participation will create a memorable life-long experience for the youth and instructors at the Academy."
Dr. Mitchell will be speaking to an audience of more than 500 international participants, guests and instructors as part of a special outdoor evening amphitheatre program at the Summer Academy of Learning in August. The Academy is sponsored and managed by the World Genesis Foundation under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
The World Genesis Foundation was founded on November 30, 1999 and is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future." Headquartered in Santa Fe, NM USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
