World Gym MMA Fighters Step Up to Create Hope for Youth in Support of a United Nations Youth Academy in Romania.

"The support of the World Gym of Rochester has been remarkable. Chuck Jewell and James Byrd supported the project from the beginning, recruiting fighters for the event and providing operational support. The event was very successful, raising $1,130 from sponsors. The money will be used in support of a special Youth Academy in Romania that is operated under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization," said Sorin Repanovici, Vice President of the World Genesis Foundation. "We also have to express our gratitude again to Ron and Michelle Sember, owners of the World Gym of Rochester. They quickly agreed to open their doors, providing free access to the community for this event. The support of Chuck, James, Ron, and Michelle will make a very significant and postive impact on our Academy and the young participants this year."
The sponsored project is a 10-day Summer Academy of Learning opening on July 30th, 2010 being held on an Island in the Danube delta near the Black Sea. More than 500 students and teachers will attend the program from locations all around the world. This is the third year the Academy has been sponsored by the World Gym of Rochester. The World Genesis Foundation was founded on November 30, 1999 and is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future." Headquartered in Santa Fe, NM USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
