FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Arts and Crafts Program for Youth in South Africa Sponsored by the World Genesis Foundation
Rochester,
New York, USA - February 15, 2011
The World Genesis Foundation announced today their sponsorship
of a special arts and crafts program for youth at Camp
Bambanani in South
Africa.
Camp Bambanani has a very successful history in the region. In the first camp of this year there were 68 children (10 - 16 years) and 15 staff members. The camp venue was held at the Cumberland Nature Reserve, located in South Africa. The children participated in a number of activities both outdoors and indoors and had the privilege of seeing animals such as impalas, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and numerous birds. “The arts and crafts sessions using the donated materials were a 'hit.' Each child went home with something that they made,“ said Naftaly Ngugi, program director of Camp Bambanani.
It is the mission of Camp Bambanani is to support and develop responsible young adults that are role models in South Africa. We do this by inspiring children and youth to be confident in their abilities to make healthy personal choices and a positive contribution to their communities. “It was a chance to support the program and we look forward to future opportunities,” said Heather Caton, Senior Director of Education of the World Genesis Foundation.
The World Genesis Foundation was founded on November 30, 1999 and is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future." Headquartered in Santa Fe, NM USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
