FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
World Genesis Foundation's JumpStart Program Announces Support of Project to Improve Child Health in Myanmar
Rochester,
New York, USA - May 14, 2011
The World Genesis Foundation announced today it has agreed to
be a sponsor of the Bleulight Project, benefiting children in
Myanmar. The Bluelight project was founded by Mr. Chan
Chow Wah, President of the Cultural Compass Project of
Singapore.
"Bleulight is a wonderful project that can make a real difference in preventing disease and saving lives for children today, said David Lewis Anderson, President and CEO of the World Genesis Foundation. Bleulight provides a simple solution than targets the most significant cause of death in children in Myanmar, diseases that are easily preventable by the use of soap and good handwashing practices."
During a recent event marking the United Nations "Global Handwashing Day," good handwashing practices were identified as the single most effective way to avoid contracting diseases. This includes diseases such as acute respiratory illnesses and diarrhoea-related diseases like cholera and dysentery.
These diseases cause 3.5 million deaths among children under five each year and they are preventable. The World Genesis Foundation has expressed how proud they are to recommend and sponsor Bleulight's efforts to promote hygiene and provide soap for children and families in Myanmar.
As part of it sponsorship, the World Genesis Foundation is providing complete graphic and internet solution design and delivery for the project under its JumpStart program for not-for-profit organizations.
The World Genesis Foundation was founded on November 30, 1999 and is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future." Headquartered in Santa Fe, NM USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
