The World Genesis Foundation announced today a preliminary
agreement with the UNESCO Center for Peace to work together to
develop plans for the launch of a new youth academy in 2013 in
Nigeria.
"The new academy will be designed to create new hope and opportunities for youth under the ideals of UNESCO and will include programs in science, culture, art, sports, communications and more, said Heather Caton, President and CEO of the World Genesis Foundation. The complementary resources of our two organizations, and the similarity of our missions and vison, should be an effective combination in the successful launch of this new program."
Heather Caton and Mr. Guy Djoken, President of the UNESCO Center for Peace, will be leading the plan development. The two organizations have begun monthly planning sessions and have agreed also to meet at a UNESCO Summer Academy coordinated by Sorin Repanovici, Vice President of the World Genesis Foundation, in Romania in 2012.
Mr. Guy Djoken will be a VIP Guest Speaker at the Romania Academy which will be a highlight of the event and will also be meeting with many officials, university professors and other UNESCO volunteers who have expressed interest in supporting the new initiative in Nigeria.
