The
Atlantykron Summer Academy for Youth will have a special guest
for 2012. Guy Djoken, Chairman, U.S. National Commission for
UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations and Executive Director
of UNESCO Center for Peace, will not only be attending the
Summer Academy but will also be a guest speaker.
“I am eager to attend the the Atlantykron Academy this summer. It is a lifetime opportunity for me to see the Danube River and visit the village and ancient Roman ruins of Capidava. I am looking forward to meet, interact and learn together with famous scientists, artists, writers and other professionals in a learning experience held in a wilderness setting. I will do what ever I can to make this historic session, one of the most successful one to date,” said Guy Djoken.
The Academy takes place on an island on the Danube river near the village and ancient Roman ruins of Capidava in Romania. A remote and wild island for most of the year… it is transformed into a special and almost magical place for ten days each summer. Atlantykron is celebrating its 24 year of bringing youth, teachers and experts together in a natural environment engaging in subjects such as science, the arts, cultural awareness, communications and sports.
“It is great that Guy will be joining us this year and we welcome him. I know he will have an amazing program for the youth that they will remember not just for the 10 days of the academy, but for their lives," said Sorin Repanovici, coordinator of Atlantykron Summer academy and co-founder of World Genesis Foundation. The students come for a summer academy but they leave with much more.
