The academy is going in to its 24th year, celebrating education and creating opportunity. The Academy takes place on an island on the Danube River near the village and ancient Roman ruins of Capidava in Romania. This island is a remote and wild island for most of the year. It is transformed into a special and almost magical place for ten days each summer, bringing youth, teachers and experts together in a natural environment engaging in subjects such as science, the arts, cultural awareness, communications and sports.
“This years program is about creating an event that not only brings so much to the participants for ten days, but for their lives,” said Sorin Repanovici, coordinator of Atlantykron Summer academy and co-founder of World Genesis Foundation. "The students come for a summer academy but they leave with much more."
The World Genesis Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that was founded on November 30, 1999 and is dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future."
