This summer's UNESCO Youth Academy at Atlantykron was a special one indeed. During the early days of the Academy, NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover landed on Mars and immediately afterward three special guest joined the youth to share and discuss a firsthand view of the experience.

Joing the Academy were three guests of the World Genesis Foundation including NASA Systems Engineers Ravi Prakash and Anthony Scodary. Along with the guests from NASA was Romanian Cosmonaut Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu. Each shared there inside views of the Mars Curiosity landing and their experiences in space exploration with the more than 500 student, teachers and organizers in attendance.

"The particpation and impact of these guests was absolutely remarkable. They lit a spark in the imagination of the youth that spread like wildfire and dominated many formal and fireside discussions for the duration of the Academy," said World Genesis Foundation President and CEO, Heather Caton MSW.

"Sometimes it takes just a little gesture, or a small moment in time, to impact the lives of the young people attending these programs, and these three guests made a positive impact that will last for years, and perhaps a lifetime, for many of the youth in attendance. We are deeply grateful for their time and support."
