Dr. Eliot Sorel M.D. is a Clinical Professor of Global Health, Health Services Management & Leadership and of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at George Washington University located in Washington DC. Eliot Sorel, M.D., D.L.F.A.P.A., is an internationally recognized global health leader, educator, health systems policy expert and practicing physician. Dr. Sorel co-chairs the World Psychiatric Association’s Task Force on non-communicable diseases and integrated care and is a member of the Council on Healthcare Systems and Finance of the American Psychiatric Association. He co-chairs the Scientific Committee of the WPA 2013 Bucharest Congress on the integration of primary care, mental health and public health, strengthening health systems for southeast Europe and Eurasia. Dr. Eliot Sorel M.D. was a virtual guest at Atlantykron UNESCO Summer Academy for Learning which takes place on an island, wild most of the year, in the middle of the Danube near the village and the ancient ruins of Capidava, Romania. This island turns into a special academy for ten days every summer. Youth, parents, teachers, actors, writers, scientists, artist and other professionals from around the world visit the island to participate in discussions, workshops and activities. In these ten days, young people meet, discuss and learn together truly unique experience.

His presentation was held in the evening program and he spoke to over 400 youth about the subject of trans-disciplinary education, higher education leadership, public, private sectors leadership & dialogue. Dr. Sorel stated, “I Look forward to a robust, mutually satisfying project to build on for the next generation of leaders.” "It was great to have Prof. Sorel speak to the students this year about some very interesting topics. His presentation was certainly a highlight of the year’s program and we look forward to connecting with him again in the future,” said Sorin Repanovici, Atlantykron Coordinator and co-founder of World Genesis Foundation.
