Heather Caton MSW, President of World Genesis Foundation, was a guest speaker at the UNESCO Body & Mind Wellness Club, World Day for Inner Peace. Heather did an interesting lecture on developing inner peace, school classes and programs that can change your brain. This lecture had targeted children and schools settings. Some of the topics that were focused on were, a snapshot of today’s classroom, the increases of stress for students today. Scientific research on mindfulness, Tai Chi, Yoga and meditation in schools and its positive impact in and outside of the classroom. An overview of sample schools incorporating classes and the results.

In addition, Body & Mind Wellness Club also had lectures about managing stress, health, self-realization and video: Universal Peace Personalities. The event even had a Yoga session. UNESCO Body & Mind Wellness Club, a U.S. Federation UNESCO Club, exists to raise the self-awareness of youth, and thereby, the inner peace, as well as physical, emotional and mental balance. When you develop inner peace having peace on the outside will follow. UNESCO Body & Mind Wellness Club, with its Partners and Associates, promote the ideals of UNESCO – the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

UNESCO core ideals by contributing to the “building of peace, the eradication of poverty, the creation of sustainable development and intercultural dialogue and promoting collaboration among nations through education, science, culture and communication. “It was a pleasure to be part of this event and speak about, what has been seen as non-formal education, and how it is becoming more mainstream and accepted in schools today,” said Heather.

The World Genesis Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that was founded on November 30, 1999 and is dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future." Headquartered in Goodyear, Arizona in the USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
