World Genesis Foundation Meets With National Federation UNESCO Association of Japan (NFUAJ)

World Genesis Foundation Headquarters
In 1947, Japan initiated the UNESCO movement. With steady
expansion the Asian-Pacific Federation was established in 1974
and the World Federation in 1981. Still today NFUAJ is
initiating activities such as School Support Projects,
"Bridging the future" with Youth Activates, "Heritage for the
Future" Movement and The World Terakoya Movement.
Mrs. Heather Caton, President of World Genesis Foundation, along with Mr. Guy Djoken, Mr. Jeremy Wustner-Brown had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Akito Terao, Deputy Secretary General of the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan. Mr. Akito Terao was in Washington DC participating in the “InterAction” forum that was celebrating 30 years. The forum brings together leaders from nonprofits, governments, philanthropy, corporations, and civil society to advance collaboration, effectiveness, and innovation. Heather, Guy and Jeremy had the opportunity to talk with Mr. Akito Terao about the initiatives and programs of both federations.
The group also spoke about the development of the USFUCA (U.S. Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations) Heather Caton is serving as the Secretary General of the U.S. Federation. The activities included this year's hosting the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations 2014 International Conference and Executive Board Meeting in NYC and the first Worldwide UNESCO Club Youth Multimedia Competition. The winners of the competition had the opportunity to attend the WFUCA conference for a special award ceremony. “It was wonderful to share time and talk about the initiatives of our organizations. We look forward in continuing to building friendships, partnership and collaborating in our global missions,” said Heather.
The World Genesis Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that was founded on November 30, 1999 and is dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future." Headquartered in Goodyear, Arizona in the USA, the foundation supports activities worldwide to create educational, scientific and cultural opportunities for youth with a special focus in areas of the world where these opportunities are limited or do not exist.
