U.S. Federation Clubs Meet In Washington DC

Heather Caton MSW, President of World Genesis Foundation and
serving as the Secretary General of USFUCA met with Mr. Guy
Djoken, President of USFUCA and Ms. Sherry Sherrod DuPree,
Director of US UNESCO CLUB TST Florida Center: Transatlantic
Slave Trade Florida Center, in Washington, DC at the USFUCA
office.
The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization - Transatlantic Slave Treade (UNESCO-TST) Florida Center works to promote peace education by collaborating with various cultures in Florida, the United States and the world. Their mission is to promote the understanding of UNESCO's mission and ideals and to translate them into programs. They promote intercultural dialogue among students, professional and other enthusiasts through education, science and culture.
Ms. Sherry Sherrod DuPree shared about the club initiatives recently such as the April 2014 UNESCO-TST collaboration agreement with the College of Coastal Georgia, Brunswick, to support planting pecan trees for the Gullah Geechee people on Sapleo, Island and in March 23, 2014-The UN International Day of Remembrance of Slavery Program honoring the UN International Day of Slavery, attached is a picture of our reception at the Harn Museum of Art, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.
Heather Caton had the opportunity to share details about the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations 2014 International Conference and Executive Board Meeting, the Worldwide UNESCO Club Youth multimedia Competition and new and exciting initiatives for this year. “We spoke about the importance of all the US UNESCO Clubs, center and associations having the chance to share best practices, networking and supporting each other in our Global Mission. It was such a pleasure to meet Ms. Sherry Sherrod DuPree and we are looking forward to the wonderful collaboration in the future,” said Heather.
The World Genesis Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization that was founded on November 30, 1999 and is dedicated to a vision and mission to "leave no child without hope for the future."
