Dr. Florin Munteanu
Center for Complexity Studies - UNESCO center 3pm-4pm RO 9am-10am EST 6:00-7:00am PST Conference Description: We live in paradoxical times. So much technological availability. So much Essentialized Knowledge and so many forms of social diffusion of Knowledge (Cursera, Khan Academy, the great Universities of the world, the Institute of Santa Fe, etc.) And so much distrust in science manifested at the level of the global society. New trades, new topics of global interest are waiting to be approached and solved. And yet functional, cultural, scientific illiteracy is manifesting itself more and more fully. We live in turbulent times! We got used to planning, organizing activities, setting deadlines... Management teaches us how to think so as not to have "surprises". Special programs have been created to determine predictions. If we can't be sure, at least we can determine the probability that something won't surprise us. And yet, from socio-economic events to health (see pandemic), from major geophysical events to extreme weather, everything seems increasingly unpredictable. Uncertainty takes the place of the certainties of a few decades ago. On closer inspection, however, we discover something else. Our way of thinking, our lifestyle, the values we accept as normal, in short the very paradigm in which we represent Reality is changing rapidly. Faster than society can assimilate change! The production of Knowledge that grows exponentially changes the rule of the game of Life ... From Complicated to Complex, from a mechanical to an organic vision, from a disciplinary approach to an inter and transdisciplinary one. Another world is born ... What is Science in this context? What are the major issues in reformulating the way we can understand Reality? How can we integrate Art and Science in a unitary thinking? What about Science and Spirituality? What is Man in this context as a being? And what is transdisciplinarity? What is Consciousness? (Science Day) Romanian Tranlation of Above: Traim vremuri paradoxale! Atata disponibilitate tehnologica. Ce este Stiinta in acest context?

Recycle
Your Used Nucelar Fuel Waste |

Professor Peter Ottensmeyer BASc PHD FRSC Canada |
Peter Ottensmeyer
BASc PhD FRSC Professor Emeritus: University of Toronto Toronto, Canada 5pm-6pm RO 11am-12pm EST 8am-9am PST Conference Description: Life means energy. Living well requires plentiful energy. Climate change, its mitigation and adaptation require that plentiful energy to be clean, carbon-free, available, and sustainable for centuries. Nuclear energy of today and tomorrow offers all that. Current nuclear power has used less than one percent of the potential in its fuel to produce already prodigious amounts of non-carbon energy worldwide. Recycling and consuming the rest of that so-called used fuel “waste” through fast-spectrum reactors eliminates its million-year radiotoxicity. It provides an additional 100 times more non-carbon energy, compact and weather-proof. Enrico Fermi showed the fast-neutron potential. Charles Till made recycling practical. We must find the wisdom to use it. Bio: Peter Ottensmeyer is Professor Emeritus, past Chair of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. His educational background is engineering physics and metallurgy with a postgraduate education in solid state physics and biophysics. This was followed by a career at the Ontario Cancer Institute on the physics and engineering side of cancer research that included radiation and radioisotopes. Over the last 15 years he has researched the better utilization of nuclear fuel and the elimination of used nuclear fuel waste, and has written a 200-page monograph on fast neutrons. Privately he plays and teaches French horn, and grafts heritage apple trees. But he says what really drives his passion to a better non-carbon nuclear future is being a grandfather of six, from 16 years down to 1-year young. |

Cristina Oancea Engineer, CSC Member Bucharest, Romania Showing at two times (Uploaded to YouTube) 4pm-5pm RO 9pm-10pm RO 10am-11am: EST 3pm-4pm EST 7am-8am PST 12pm-1pm PST Conference Description: Lately, many people heard about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and associate them with” becoming an overnight millionaire”. And while that is a myth (because all” overnight successes” come after years of learning, working, and evolving), becoming an investor in the crypto market might be an interesting and feasible idea for many of us. But behind the financial perspective of digital assets, I believe you should know how and why it all started, where this novelty came from, and what to expect in the future. Can it really change your life? Maybe! Cryptocurrencies are based on blockchain technology and this is the true pillow of the system. More than that, many big companies in the world already use blockchain in many areas of their business. Why? Because it makes their systems more efficient, secure, and transparent. How does this influence you? Well, maybe you will find an area in the company you work for where blockchain can really make a difference. Or maybe there is a project you want to start and this technology is exactly what you need. So, let’s find out a few answers to the question: how can the crypto ecosystem shape our future? |

Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, Bioengineer, Professional Coach. Bucharest Romania Complexity and Human Experience 1:30pm-2:30pm RO 7:30am-8:30am EST 4:30am-5:30am PST Conference Description: 'Humanity made big steps into understanding the world around us. Physics studied the nature and the proprieties of the matter and energy and we see a big progress. When it comes to biology we are see as it in the situation of the pandemic with corona virus that we make progress by understanding the genetics and living organisms. And here not all the methods used by physicists may be adequate. A bigger effort though has to be put in the understanding the mind and the continuum matter-biology-consciousness. Let's make some steps. |
